Dear Son, Happy Birthday

#poetry #limerick

Our little trooper has turned three

A ping pong ball he is I do agree

Oh I so love his bugs bunny beak

May he grow up to be like an oak tree, such unique

Joie de vivre he is to us for free.

Masha Allah you turned three today.. When I try to turn back the pages of the past two years with you, i really get amazed at how you grew up from a teensy weensy soul lying helplessly to the one who never rests… I looked into your glittering eyes when I held you for the first time and felt every bit of calm and peace.

I assumed you had too many questions to ask as your eyes wandered here and there.. And now when I even try to look what’s in your eyes, trust me you don’t even allow me to do that. You are so restless that I truly wonder when will I again get a chance to feel that calm and peace.

It’s just  three years with you but from day one you made me realize the love, care, bond, sacrifice, responsibility a mother does all her life and made me much much more closer to my mother. Not just for these three years, but I wish you health for all your life. I just pray you return your love to all those people who are on their toes all day for you my little prince.

I wish you be strong enough to conquer this world as this world is a dark place and full of mirage. Just play and sail through with compassion in your heart and achieve what’s best for you in this world and hereafter. And may be someday you will be big enough to see through my eyes and I will just smile and get all my answers.
