While rummaging around to unlock my cognition

I stumbled upon a picture that eclipsed my vision

I couldn’t persevere but to go back in time

And stand there to witness the destiny’s crime

I could see their bewitching countenance

Smiling at me with credence

Some going for a vacation

While some returning to their nation

Some talking to their mother and saying goodbye

While some with their wives promising to be back soon and enjoy a pie

A young lad I see sitting adjacent to the isle

Very excited he seems to go back home after a long while

A little angelic soul crying due to ear pain

Who would know all will wash away with rain

New wings waiting to flap

And dreams umpteen to unwrap

Just a hit by destiny’s black shadow

Darkening their enlightening rainbow

Hues and cries, prayers and forgiveness

Oh God why this mercilessness

To vaporize their souls in the midst of nowhere

Loved ones left behind receiving merely a phone call to hear

Whatever happens has a reason and a lesson

Our days are numbered, there’s an end to every session

A crash, an illness or just in sleep

We will have to go down deep

Cherish your days, your moments

For there never is a second life enrollment

As this wreckage declares

“Hold on until all disappears”

Indeed that plane wreckage is a darkness, which reminds us of our feeble being, makes us believe of that superpower who is controlling the whole universe, makes us believe that thus darkness will engulf everyone of us someday, sooner or later. But as you said, it should ignite this flicker of positivity that we have still time while thinking all of this, we are alive and can cherish and live life until it is our time to go. 😊

Good write up. Many times in reality it happens..sudden stocking all gives you pain at a time but slowly time space gives you strength again to live the life. This is the destiny. Loved it.

Life is so unpredictable Samreen which you prosed so beautifully. While we will never know the reason, it’s not us to question fate. We are visitng for a short while even when days seem long and I am reminded of that when visiting my aging parents. I had a profound experience yesterday.. too long to go into here but maybe I’ll post about it.
I particularly loved these lines. So beautiful and stand alone. So lovely, as we will all disappear in time. Have a beautiful Sunday night! Haven’t heard or seen anything from your uncle lately. Has he been posting?

It is indeed very much unpredictable, it’s that superpower who is in charge of our lives and we never know when our light will diminish. But since the time we are alive, we should really be thankful for it and live happily πŸ™‚ You are so right, looking at our parents we do realise of our vulnerability. It’s sure is so wonderful to be with them.

UmAnsar, habeebity,…Oh this image is powerful and I totally understand why it inspired this poem, your thoughts, your wise truth. You used phrases and chose words to bring this airplane disaster to life, you sent all back, to live their last minutes and yes, it does not have to be as anything as dramatic as a plane crash, to know, that our lives are finite, Alhamdulillah for everything, and every minute we are still alive. It is ironic that my latest poem also deals with mortality too… You penned this, as always from your deep heart and your poetic gift that is part of you too:):) Chilling and honest!! I love it!❀️❀️❀️

Oh habeebity, I am so honored and very happy you actually summarized the while of it so well in your own beautiful words as always you do. ❀️ Indeed, alhamdulillah for everything, for every breath we breathe.

WOW–THIS IS FANTASTICALLY GOOD!!! May I suggest tightening up your sentence structure a little—I have a similar tendency—of a few too many connective words. Other than that, judging by received comments, you have every right to be proud of this one, with your accompanying illustrations!!!!! BRAVO!!!!! πŸ˜€

This is so beautiful and true. I believe we all learned last year how life can change in a moment. Who would have known we’d spend a year in lock down over a pandemic?! So much loss and death last year and to start this year. But all we can do is cherish those around us and live every moment making the best choices, even if that choice is to rest. So beautiful!!
