Happy Birthday Dear Son

I will step up and open a new door

As I would be turning four

Gallimaufry of letters, numbers and imagination are there in store

How fortunate would I be to see happiness galore

Open the door to be ingenious

Your eyes will gleam so please be sagacious

Sugar coated jellies would look delicious

But mind you, they would be the most vicious

How would I know what to choose

Will you be there to clear my blues?

I fear a chimera might be on the loose

Oh these catawampus notions make me so confuse

If you would be wise, you will walk the right way

Remember God and he would never let you sway

Swim the ocean of life with love and courage, your fears will be at bay

Be ready with an umbrella too, rain can come any day

Bursts of rainbow, vibrant plumage covering the skies

Oh how they amalgamate together when the sun arises

When there is dark, I could only see the luminous fireflies

And you say not to envision beauty but to close my eyes

Curiosity, Inquisitiveness, queries would cloud your mind

But the brilliance of life should not make you blind

I may not be there to always remind

Just be the harbinger of sunshine, enjoy and just stay kind

Wishing your son a belated Happy Birthday:) Hope you all are doing fine. This was a heartfelt wish of a mother. I shuddered a little at the vicious sugar coated jellies and chimera, but the kids in current generation are wise in making choices. And so true that the mother may not be always around to lead. But he would be smart enough to carry himself through challenging times. This was a lovely poem (and perhaps a prayer) of a mother. Wishing the best to you and your loved ones:)

Hi Samreen, Yes, we are kind of settled now. She has enrolled in a school. Here learning Arabic is compulsory in schools. Trying to learn…some words like kursi, kalam etc are common:)) Do you know Arabic? Qatar, I think, is more stricter than Dubai. Anzar is in Kidergarten 1?

Hi dear, that’s great that you are settled there now, it takes time to understand a new place. Here, Arabic is not compulsory in schools. Is it an Indian curriculum school? No, I don’t know Arabic.
Qatar is not strict dear, we have all the freedom here, never have we felt any restrictions for anything. Locals also are good, they never interfere. They just keep to themselves.
